April 22 was Earth Day, so LLC decided to celebrate it! We had a much smaller group that day but we still had a great time.
We started off "planting" some beans. All they did was put wet cotton balls and a few dried beans in a plastic bottle. The beans started sprouting a few days later and the vines are almost to the top of the bottle now!
Next, we made our own earth pictures. We combined shaving cream, green paint and glue in cups then the kids finger painted inside their blue circles. The paint dried puffy and soft and didn't lose it's shape.
Then we read a story called "The Earth Book". It was a very cute book, complete with a checklist on how the kids can help the planet.
Finally, all the kids got a paper with pictures of items they were to collect. They loved running around the park collecting pieces of nature.
Fun day! Let's all work together to care for God's beautiful creation.
