Boo at the Zoo

As one of our fall activities, we took the kids to the Hesperia Zoo for something called "Boo at the Zoo". The kids got to go around at night looking at the animals with flashlights. It was not as kid-friendly as we were hoping but Avi had some fun looking at and petting the animals.

I just loved this quote from the same clip I shared yesterday. What are your thoughts?

"One of the most powerful apologetics of the gospel is when a group of people love one another and live in unity together, in the midst of a broken, dark, depraved world. They don't think they have to remove themselves from the world to be sanctified because they believe the gospel is powerful enough to sanctify them in the middle of a broken world".

Inspiration

At community group tonight, our pastor showed us this you tube clip. It really affected me and helped me to understand more tangibly what it means to be Gospel centered. God's been working on me in little bits and pieces and I'm starting to feel like it's coming together to show me at least part of a whole picture.

Eggrolls

I stole Melissa's recipe for eggrolls and was not disappointed! The problem is they were so good, I didn't have a chance to take a picture of the end product!

The sauce recipe I found online and I can't seem to find it again. It's just marachino cherry juice, pineapple juice, sugar, vinegar and cornstarch.

Homeschool - Activity Day

I took a break this week from our curriculum and gave Avi activity stations to move through.

We started with puzzles:

Craft: We made finger puppets out of cleaning gloves

It took a few tries to be successful!

Hopscotch!

I decided it was time to teach Avi hopscotch, so on a lazy Monday morning we got out the sidewalk chalk and gave it a try. She thought it was pretty funny!

A few days ago, a neighbor stopped by and while we were talking with the door open, a bird flew in the house!

Avi and I were typical girls, screaming every time it flew by our heads! Thank God for our strong man!

It's a terrible picture but Daddy saved the day! What a guy....just call him the Bird Whisperer.

Little Learner's Club - Pumpkins!

Last week at LLC we painted pumpkins (a favorite from last year) -

Then we attempted pumpkin face jars with candles. This one was not so successful. I think we needed different paint.

We were at the park for this one so the kids could hardly wait to finish their projects so they could go play! Another beautiful October day!
