B is for Butterfly!

We LOVE butterflies around our house so our week of homeschooling about butterflies lasted more like a month!

It all started with our very own caterpillars that we got mailed to us. It was such an amazing thing to watch these little tiny caterpillars double in size over and over again, then hang from the top of the cup, then form their chrysalids, then emerge as butterflies. I couldn't help but think about the transformation Christians make when God takes hold of us. It's sometimes a difficult, painful and even violent process but once we are a new creation, we wouldn't go back to the old us!

Along with the amazing real butterflies, we did some butterfly crafts and read a fun butterfly book.

We started off with a butterfly chalkboard on a butterfly cork board.

Then, a butterfly collage with stickers and stamps

Next, a butterfly and other bug necklace that became a birthday gift!

And finally, a painted wooden butterfly.
