The Garden

These pictures were taken awhile ago to show the progress of our garden. It grew pretty well this year but I still need a lot of work perfecting this skill!

Garden update

The garden is finally finished! I am so excited to see if we can actually grow some stuff. We planted watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, cilantro, basil, parsley, dill, chives, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme, green beans, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, spinach and 4 kinds of bell peppers. At the very least we will hopefully be able to make a nice salad!

We also planted honeysuckle, jasmine, an apple tree and an apricot tree. Along with our peach and almond trees, we hopefully can make less trips to the grocery store!

Another Organizing Project

My house is one big never ending organizational project. Just when I think I've got a room done, another one explodes with clutter and junk. I'm working my way through the house slowly but I started over again with the office. It is definitely the catch-all room!

I put this cabinet together to hold all our school supplies for our upcoming homeschooling year!

Ahhh, much better :)

Christmas Project

My Grandpa made this dollhouse for me when I was little. I decided to re-furbish it and give it to the girls this year for Christmas.

Homemaking

A friend told me that her sister-in-law got her degree in college in Home Ec. I would have loved to have that wealth of knowledge to take into marriage and parenting. Alas, I have to learn as I go like everyone else :)
This summer I've been doing quite a bit of homemaking stuff which I love. Our peach tree gave us about 60 white peaches and they were awesome!

So far, besides eating them, we've made peach pancakes:

These little beauties (english muffin, cream cheese, cottage cheese, cinnamon sugar and peaches):

Peach Jam: Here is the process. Be careful, it's messy!

While we were at it, I made mixed berry and strawberry also!

I should have enough jam to last us for about 3 years!

I found a great recipe for granola bars, I have no idea where I got it though!

And tried some homemade croutons:

I couldn't have done it without my helper!

And I finally decorated above the fireplace!

Next up, Salad in a Jar!

The cutest playhouse ever!

After hours and hours of work, the playhouse is finally finished!! It is adorable! All it needs is windows and curtains and then I think we all might just move in. The girls have already had hours of enjoyment playing! Thanks Mom and Dad!
