Little Learner's Club - The 5 Senses

Call me either ambitious or stupid but I decided to plan activities for all 5 senses to do in one day with 12 toddlers! They were fun activities but the kids couldn't quite hang for all of them!

We set up 5 stations. The first was the sight station. The kids made "Eye Spy" bottles.  They filled their bottles with rice and then added small objects. They attached a picture of the different items in the bottles so they know what to search for.

The second station was touch. they made texture pages with sandpaper, cotton balls, felt and feathers. Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pictures of this one.

The third station was sound. They played a sound matching game. Each cup was filled with a different object that makes a different sound (pennies, beans, jingle bells...) and each cup had a matching cup that would make the same sound. The kids had to try to find the matches.

The fourth station was taste. The kids tried all 4 taste experiences - bitter (cocoa), sour (lemons), sweet (jelly beans) and salty (chips).

The last station was smell. The kids made a smells book containing the smells of lavender, vanilla, lemon and orange.

After all that work, they needed a break to go run with the dogs!

All in all, it was a fun day!
