This year I've started doing a very relaxed "Preschool" with Avi. On good weeks, we have school 3 times but it doesn't always happen! We are working through a curriculum called "Before 5 in a Row". Each week that we do school, we cover a different children's book and do activities that relate to that book. Most are art projects but sometimes we will cook or count or loosely incorporate some other subjects. We are also working on a different color each week and trying to help Avi grow spiritually. I'll try to post pictures of some of the work we've done this year but for now, here is our most recent school day.
We were working on "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb". First we read it and then sang "Where is Thumbkin". Then we moved on to a hand and finger print activity.
Green was our color this week. Avi colored her green page that will eventually go in her rainbow book, and found all the green food she had in her kitchen.
We finished up by learning her first catechism - "Who made you?". We're using this little book my sister recommended. Our verse was Psalm 47:1. We only managed to do school one day this week so we have some more work to do on Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb!
