A couple weeks ago, in honor of the olympics, we had our own games....LLC style!
The kids started off being divided into age-appropriate teams and created their own flag complete with team name.
Even Millie and Megan formed a team and drew a flag!
Then they all lined up for the opening ceremonies...yes, complete with the Olympic Theme Song!
There were 3 events going on simultaneously:
Discus and shot-put (paper plates and marshmellows)
The balance beam and hoola hoop
Gymnastics and the long jump
After they made the rounds through the events and were scored, we had some races
We finished off with an obstacle course
Finally, the awards ceremonies (everyone got a gold medal but team USA won) complete with the Star Spangled Banner and the Pledge of Allegiance.
