You're Under Arrest!!

Now is this Daddy's girl or what!

Millie Mae - 3 weeks old!

My baby is growing! She had a doctor appointment last week and she is now up to 7 lbs. 7 oz. The doctor was impressed with her weight gain. She is still the same length but it's ok, short and chubby is in!

She is sleeping about 4 hours at a time at night and sleeps most of the day. She eats constantly and loves just looking around when she is awake. She is a pretty sweet little girl!

Here are two of her favorite activities...bath time and cuddling with Dada!

Little Learner's Club - The 5 Senses

Call me either ambitious or stupid but I decided to plan activities for all 5 senses to do in one day with 12 toddlers! They were fun activities but the kids couldn't quite hang for all of them!

We set up 5 stations. The first was the sight station. The kids made "Eye Spy" bottles.  They filled their bottles with rice and then added small objects. They attached a picture of the different items in the bottles so they know what to search for.

The second station was touch. they made texture pages with sandpaper, cotton balls, felt and feathers. Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pictures of this one.

The third station was sound. They played a sound matching game. Each cup was filled with a different object that makes a different sound (pennies, beans, jingle bells...) and each cup had a matching cup that would make the same sound. The kids had to try to find the matches.

The fourth station was taste. The kids tried all 4 taste experiences - bitter (cocoa), sour (lemons), sweet (jelly beans) and salty (chips).

The last station was smell. The kids made a smells book containing the smells of lavender, vanilla, lemon and orange.

After all that work, they needed a break to go run with the dogs!

All in all, it was a fun day!

St. Patrick's Day!

I'm not sure why, but I'm a really big fan of St. Patrick's Day! I guess it's just another excuse to throw a party!

We started our celebration the night before. Avi planted some magic jelly beans to see what they would grow into over night.

Surprise! They sprouted a pinwheel and lollipops!

We started off the morning right with a Lucky Charms breakfast. Avi was a huge fan of the marshmallows!

Then we got dressed in green and headed off to play at the park with friends.

The kids did a scavenger hunt and snacked on green jello, grapes, shamrock cookies and graham crackers with green frosting.

We HAD to have a green lunch when we got home!

After nap time, we made a rainbow to hang at dinner time, a rainbow fruit plate and a rainbow cake. Such a fun day!

Victoria Gardens

Yesterday, we took advantage of the gorgeous day and went with some friends to Victoria Gardens for the day. Our kids had a great time playing together! They started out at the playground and then moved on to the water fountain.

Avi and Judah...You can tell they are having a horrible time!

After an awesome lunch at Lucille's (my favorite!!) the guys took a train ride with the kids.

Thanks Ben, Nikki and Judah for a really fun day!

Homeschool - Goodnight Moon

It's taken us about 3 weeks to get through our latest book lesson at home. Having a baby really puts a wrench in my schedule!!

We worked on the book Goodnight Moon, the color pink and some random activities.

After reading the book, Avi colored a picture.

Then we did a counting activity about different items in the book.

The next school day, Avi colored her pink picture and played the Goodnight Moon game. Just a couple months ago she couldn't play this game at all. This time she was a pro!

I was fresh out of Goodnight Moon activities this morning so we worked on bead stringing, puzzles and counting bears.
